Profile
Summary
Critical thinker seeking to merge political literacy and diverse media expertise in a challenging new role.
Currently carrying out political journalism, analysis, research and production work for feature-length political documentary-in-development, Too Good to Resist.
During 2012, I worked as Research, Media and Advocacy Executive at anti-corruption think tank, Transparency International (TI) Ireland. As part of my role there, I worked on a multi-tiered anti-corruption research project sponsored by the European Commission (EC).
In September 2011, I completed an MA in International Relations at Warwick University, specialising in Political Theory and International Human Rights Law.
Prior to my MA, I worked as a researcher, production assistant, production coordinator, and multimedia journalist, after graduating with a 1.1 from a BA in Communications Studies in 2004 .
Since returning to Ireland in 2011, I've been involved in economic policy activism within a domestic context. I carry out voluntary work for Debt Justice Action: http://www.notourdebt.ie/ and UnlockNAMA: http://unlocknama.org/
I'm looking to fuse specialised knowledge of politics and international affairs, a flair for complex analytical thinking, and a diverse set of broadcast, online and journalistic skills to pursue a path in news and current affairs.
I'm particularly interested in political journalism roles in the broadcast/print sector. I'm available to begin work immediately.
